Outdoor Voices is looking for a Senior Merchandise Planner to translate top-level strategy into a financial execution plan for OV. Reporting to the Head of Merchandising & Planning, you will lead the Planning and Allocation processes for all product categories and play an active part in growing the business and developing the team you’ll oversee.


  • Lead the merchandise planning and allocation strategy in accordance with company goals, historical performance, and business trends
  • Minimize inventory risk and identify sales opportunities through oversight of sales forecasts, margin performance, and other KPIs
  • Own category level quarterly hindsight process for all categories
  • Provide applicable financial targets to all stakeholders within the business
  • Create sales reporting packages to cross-functional team members that inform future inventory and assortment strategies
  • Set and manage in-season inventory and provide recommendations for all categories on markdowns and promotions to ensure inventory targets and turns are met
  • Manage Category OTB through the development of RP/Chase/Cut strategies to harmonize sales and inventory performance
  • Partner with Merchandising to develop pre-season sales, markdown, margin, receipt, and inventory. Develop assortment plans to the category level by country by channel. Develop projections and inventory flow for key items/collections
  • Analyze and reflect current trends in performance of strategy based on actual sales performance; revise in-season plans for sales and profitability; control inventory levels. Make recommendations for key financial meetings/decisions in order to maximize sales, margin, and inventory productivity Monthly plan review process: develop sales, markdown, receipt, and inventory re-forecasts. Manage receipts and adjust inventory flow
  • Forecast monthly and seasonal store plans for allocation, OTB Plan, and store review
  • Partners with cross-functional partners to communicate and negotiate calendar challenges to the execution of "by-whens"


  • 7+ years planning experience - global, OMNI, and or vertical experience preferred
  • 2+ years allocation experience
  • 2+ years experience leading teams of 2 or more direct reports
  • Broad knowledge of merchandising, retail supply, and operations topics
  • Expert knowledge of Excel and GSuite required
  • Strong financial acumen, proficient in all retail math, passion for numbers and analytics
  • Experience presenting to groups, as well as interacting with senior leadership and external partners
  • Curiosity to look beyond the everyday business to look for opportunities to maximize sales potential
  • Willingness to work on the retail floor and an understanding of consumer perspective
