As an Assistant Shop Leader, you will directly support the success and trajectory of our business. You’ll assist the Shop Leader in all aspects of managing your shop, and collaborate with your local Field Marketer to build the OV Community through events and local relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Lead by example on the selling floor through brand affinity, product knowledge, and passion for building the OV Community both inside and outside the shop
  • Help guide your team to exceed sales goals through top-tier customer service and expert product knowledge
  • Work with your Shop Leader to help manage your teams' goals and development plans for growth
  • Participate in building the team in your shop through interviewing, hiring and onboarding
  • Promote a culture of operational excellence in your shop through your role overseeing inventory management, scheduling, training and visual standards
  • Ensure procedures are followed to protect our inventory and assets and all activities related to risk management and safety
  • Set an example of customer service by leading sales efforts on the selling floor
  • Help coordinate in-shop events, partnering with Field Marketing Manager where appropriate, to promote traffic to the shop and engage the OV community

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of retail experience
  • Active or contemporary experience preferred. Relationships with location Recreation community a plus
  • Creative eye for styling and product 1x1 with customers
  • Experience exceeding sales goals in a retail environment
  • Superior people skills: you believe in recreation and doing things and how to get people to rally around it. You are friendly, approachable, and engaging
  • Keen sense of detail and organization
  • Cleverness. You quickly and completely solve any problem that may arise for customers or potential customers before, during, and after purchase
