A District Manager at Outdoor Voices is responsible for the sales, operations, customer experience, and talent development within a multi-unit portfolio of stores. This role will report to the Vice President of Retail.


  • Lead and direct Store Managers in the development, and execution of sales plans that achieve revenue and operational goals
  • Partner with Customer Experience team to ensure customer feedback is heard and actioned on with the appropriate parties
  • Act as brand ambassador - engage customers on the brand and coach your teams to be brand advocates in and out of their stores
  • Ensure all stores meet operational expectations, including but not limited to facility maintenance, presentation and organization
  • Manage and directly impact portfolio P&L through individual store management
  • Regularly audit stores for compliance with established company policies, procedures, and standards such as human resource practices, loss prevention, safety, merchandising, marketing, inventory control, and more
  • Manage new store opening process and plan hiring, community, and training for each new store in your district
  • Monitor merchandise of a retail store group to ensure effective inventory and merchandise management
  • Direct Store Managers in solving merchandise presentation challenges utilizing company merchandising guidelines and directives. Monitor inventory and merchandise needs and relay observations to HQ partners as needed
  • Recruit, interview, and hire Shop Managers and conduct secondary interviews for Assistant Managers and potentially other key-holding positions
  • Strategically position talent for future growth and expansion - Manage bench building within each market for easy transitions and upward mobility
  • Create and maintain a welcoming, professional, healthy, and productive work environment for store teams within a district through contests/activations, culture budgets, recognition programs, strong communication, etc.
  • Develop diverse teams that know their markets, communities and customers and are engaged with each other, their business and their community
  • Through store managers, direct compliance of store personnel with established company policies, procedures, and standards. Ensure that stores comply with applicable federal and/or state laws
  • Manage district-level payroll spending via schedule audits, headcount recommendations, and performance management


  • 7+ years of retail leadership experience
  • 3+ years of multi-unit retail leadership experience
  • Passionate about customer experience and driving a customer-centric culture
  • Ability to independently analyze store operations, on all levels, and recommend changes necessary to challenge company goals and objectives
  • Effective communication and strong organizational, interpersonal and problem solving skills
  • Proven success in driving business results, including meeting or exceeding sales goals and driving profitability year-over-year
  • Proven success in employee development, people management and building positive team culture in stores
  • Able to work flexible schedule including weekends, evenings and holidays
  • GSuite proficient
  • Ability to travel up to 75%
